FAQ

Would we be able to talk before I commit?

Definitely! But serious inquiries only please - you get me directly (no assistant)!

Do you accept insurance?

Gotcha Nutrition & Wellness is pay-per-service and currently out-of-network with all insurance companies. I will provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance carrier. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Do I work with couples?

Absolutely!! If your partner resides in the same household it makes sense and has a greater success rate if everyone in the household is working toward the same goal. Your partner rate is 50% of your rate (excluding 3x4 test cost).

Do you do a single session?

If you would like a single session only, I do have an individual single session rate.

Do you see clients in-person?

At this time, I am only seeing clients virtually via video or telephone. All meetings are conducted on a HIPPA secure, encrypted platform. You can log in using your cell phone, tablet or computer.

Can we work together even if I don’t live in New Jersey?

This depends on your country/state nutrition counseling laws but we will confirm this during our first discovery call.

What if I can’t afford your services?

I believe holistic nutrition should be inclusive and available to everyone, regardless of age, income, race, religion, gender identity and/or sexual orientation. We all deserve to have access and support to ’lean in’ and support the health of our own cells, becoming healthier individuals that can together ’lean in’ to do the work to heal and make healthy our communities.

How do dietitians and nutritionists differ?

Many people think the terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are interchangeable and mean the same thing. They do not. Dietitians ARE nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians. A registered dietitian nutritionist is a food and nutrition expert that has gone through extensive educational training and has passed a Commission on Dietetic Registration exam that qualifies them to provide individualized science based nutrition care.

Which one should you work with?

Completely YOUR choice.

How do you address metabolic health?

We will discuss what ideal levels of blood sugar, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) high-density lipoprotein (HDL), cholesterol, blood pressure, waist circumference and body weight are and set goals to stay or get there.

How do you address digestive health?

We will discuss ‘leaky gut’ and set goals to optimize your digestive health. We will address metabolic health, obesity, Type II Diabetes lifestyle management, post gastric bypass, NAFLD, cardiovascular health, digestive health and hormonal health.

How do you address hormonal health?

We will discuss possible symptoms of a hormone imbalance, such as fatigue, insufficient sleep, unexplained weight gain/weight loss, itchy skin, hair/nail breakage and ideal hormone levels.

How do you address brain health?

I am a ‘fan girl’ follower of Dale Bredensen, MD and fully appreciate, believe and support the idea that cognitive decline can be at least stabilized, if not reversed. Family connection is not our destiny and scientific data shows that working on insulin-resistance, controlling inflammation, intermittent fasting, optimizing nutrients, hormones, growth factor support, may help us reduce pathogens and toxins, and optimize sleep.

• Gastrointestinal “Gut” Health - gut dysbiosis, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD)
• Autoimmune Diseases (Diabetes Type II, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, etc.)

• Other Health Problems (ie. nutrient deficiencies, neurotransmitter imbalances, headaches, food triggered migraines, disrupted sleep challenges.)

What is nutrigenomics?

Nutrigenomics/Nutrigenetics is a quickly expanding area of nutrition that looks at what your genes are, how they might need to be supported via food, supplements, and by addressing lifestyle approaches to support and enhance the cellular processes that help your genes express the healthiest you.
