Are dietitians and nutritionists the same?
Many people think the terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are interchangeable and mean the same thing. They do not as a registered dietitian is a protected title by law. Dietitians ARE nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians. A registered dietitian nutritionist is a food and nutrition expert that has gone through extensive educational training and has passed a Commission on Dietetic Registration exam that qualifies them to provide individualized science based nutrition care.

This depends on your country/state nutrition counseling laws but we will confirm this during our first discovery call.
What if I can’t afford your services?
I believe that holistic nutrition should be inclusive and available to everyone, regardless of age, income, race, religion, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation. We all deserve to have access to and support for "leaning in" and supporting the health of our own cells, thereby becoming healthier individuals. In short, let's figure out what you can financially manage.
Do you accept insurance?
Gotcha Nutrition & Wellness (GNW) does accept Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare (Diabetes & Renal *w/o dialysis*), Cigna (pending), AmeriHealth (pending) & Emblem (pending). As always, we have cash rates if you do not have nutrition coverage on your health insurance policy.
NOTE: Even though GNW may participate in your insurance, this does not mean nutrition services will be covered. Therefore, you are required to call your insurance company prior to scheduling your visit to confirm your nutrition visits will be covered.
What questions should I ask when calling my insurance?
1) Do I have nutritional counseling coverage on my insurance plan?
2) Do I need a referral to see a Registered Dietitian?

If the representative asks for a diagnosis code (aka ICD 10 code) please tell them the visit is Z71.3.
4) How many visits do I have per calendar year?
Your carrier will let you know how many visits they are willing to cover. Depending on the carrier the number of visits vary from 0 to unlimited depending on medical need.
5) Do I have a cost-share for these services?
6) Is there an associated cost for me if I choose to have the appointment as a telehealth visit versus in person visit?
